From parking services to mobility technology
Since 2005, Parktrade has evolved through continuous development, new markets and increasingly complex mobility operations.

2005–2014
The foundation
Parktrade is established in Sweden and begins helping parking operators manage charges issued to foreign registered vehicles. During its first decade, the company develops the capabilities required to operate across borders, from identifying registered vehicle owners and delivering communications in local language to processing multi currency payments.
Early contracts with the cities of Copenhagen and Amsterdam demonstrate the value of an integrated cross border service. The experience gained across different markets, languages and regulatory environments shapes Parktrade’s technology, operational processes and international partner network.
This period establishes the processes and models that later enables Parktrade to expand into road tolling and other complex mobility charges. -
2014–2019
We scaled through technology
Building on its established cross border model, Parktrade invests in technology and transforms its operational expertise into a scalable, modular platform. Previously manual and partly outsourced processes become connected digital workflows covering identification, validation, communication, payments, customer support and reporting.
This development enables Parktrade to process significantly higher volumes and expand from parking into road tolling and ferry charges. Epass24 is introduced as a dedicated vehicle owner portal, providing simple access to charge information, secure payments and multilingual support.
New contracts with public authorities and road operators across the Nordic region drive further development. The platform continues to evolve around real operational requirements, enabling Parktrade to support increasingly complex mobility efficiently and at scale. -
2021–today
A broader mobility platform
Parktrade expands its platform beyond cross-border parking and toll collection to support a wider range of mobility charges, including ferry charges, congestion taxes, low-emission zones and distance-based road user charging.
Dedicated solutions such as Epass24, ParkiaPay and Vejafgifter.dk provide tailored experiences for different mobility operations while being powered by the same underlying technology, workflows and operational services.
ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 certified management systems, together with Parktrade’s authorisation to provide payment services from the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority, create a robust compliance framework across the complete service delivery.
This common platform enables operators to introduce new charging models, integrate with relevant systems and deliver a clear, secure and reliable experience to both domestic and international vehicle owners.
